Spring Break 2006!

I just returned from Spring Break in the Caribbean! Jay, Beau, Tessier, Alex, Tyler, Sprad, Nan, Rhys, Ashley, and I went on a 5-day Carnival Cruise on the Inspiration. We had an amazing time – it was a great option for Spring Break.

Our ship traveled to Cozumel, Mexico and to the Grand Cayman Islands, while having two full days at sea. In the Caymans, Beau, Tyler, Sprad, and I traveled to Stingray City – a large sandbar in the middle of ocean where LARGE stingrays swim. They’d let us feed them, pet them, and even kiss them! I think Sprad even tried to take one home. We also checked out a number of the awesome houses and properties – and thought about the idea of living in the Caymans when we’re older – you realize there’s no tax system AT ALL? Our trip was short there, but we went to Cozumel the next day and all of us went on a dune buggie tour. The tour lasted all day and let us all hop in dune buggies and drive around the island. The dune buggies were fast and wild and we were able to see lots of neat places.

Some of the other highlights of our onboard experience:

  • Karaoke (the highlight song being “Total Eclipse of the Heart”)
  • The water slide
  • Singing along at the piano bar
  • Dinner – I’d order 2 entrees minimum!
  • Bingo (even though no one won :( )
  • The Shows (especially comedy)
  • The People (lots of spring breakers!)
  • Ping Pong
  • Wearing our Jhorts (Jean Shorts)
  • 24 hour pizzeria!
  • And many more…

If you’d like to check out the rest of my pictures (there are a lot), you can go to my webshots: photos.rossgilmore.com.

Overall, the trip was a blast. Cruising is an unbelievable experience, even more so when you’re older. This was my second cruise, but the first for everyone else. We all talked about how we’d like to do it again in the future… I’m sad to be back and dealing with school again, but realize that I only have two months left until I graduate…
