As a 4th year Engineering student at UVA, you’re required to write a Thesis. Yes, that’s right. We spend 2 semesters writing a long thesis about the topic of your choice..

I’ve decided to pursue the area of security and Biometrics. While not completley Computer based, I find the area to be really interesting and practical. I might look into improving security in the Metro systems using Biometric technology… seeing as the Metro now has little to no security (e.g, see London Bombings).

This will surely be an adventure all year. I’ll post my final thesis topic when I’ve figured it all out..

Hurricane Katrina has been upgraded to a Category 5, the highest level a hurricane can be, and is looking to hit the United States Monday. President Bush has declared a “State of Emergency” for the state of Louisiana. All my New Orleans friends (especially Tessier) are worried they may not have much of a city to return to after the Hurricane goes through… thoughts and prayers go to them and Louisiana, as we hope for the best..

Today is my LAST first day of classes.. here’s to a good (hopefully not too hard) and fun 4th year!

I’m long overdue posting about my trip to Hawaii (and I’m still not going to).. my 9 day excursion to paradise with my family was amazing!
