I know it’s been a while since I’ve updated.. this past weekend I went down to Virginia Beach for the 11th Annual Sand Soccer tournament. I put together a team, UVA Club, early in March. Advanced Nutrition sponsored us and paid our entry fee/tshirts. Bippy, Luke, Tessier, Russel, Rob, TK, Haas, Amir, and Hsu all came down to play.. as well as Putzy and Chris Mein.

We won our first three games 4-1, 3-1, and 6-3, despite injuries. Russel broke his toe in the first game (on a goal, however) and I did who-knows-what to my foot early on in the second game and did not play afterwards. Amir had to leave and couldn’t play on Sunday, as well as Putzy. The guys rallied well for the third game, but we unfortunatley lost in the semifinals by 2 goals. It was a good showing for our first time playing (most the guys, that is).. and it was a lot of fun. It’s always great to see so many people you grew up playing soccer with.. old coaches, teammates, players, etc..

Other highlights of the weekend:

• Watching Tessier sing “Wake me up” (think Zoolander->models riding in jeep singing song)
• Amazing weather. Everyone got a tan/burned.
• Beau scoring the first goal of the tournament… on Tessier… for an own goal.
• The mirror maze.. followed by the comedy club.
