EXAMS/Beach Week/General Recap

So I didn’t post for a month or so… sue me! I didn’t even find time to finish the Microsoft Interview until today – but it’s up! Seeing as its summer time, I’ll be posting and doing a lot more with the site – and oh how I’m excited for summer!

First, I’d like to display my hatred for exams. Up until the last day of classes, I was bogged down with projects and homeworks to finish… I felt burnt out before exams even started. I had 3 take homes and 2 exams, which to me felt like a decent schedule. They were all spaced out over a week. Luckily, I went into all my exams doing well in the class – so a good grade on the exam wasn’t needed to pull me up – but unfortunatley it ended up all my exams brought me down. All of my exams were ridiculously harder – much harder than the tests and what was expected. I don’t understand it – did teachers feel the need to give a really hard exam to end the year? Did they think they’d been too easy earlier on? I’m so frustrated! Needless to say, I’m happy school is over – I managed doing pretty decent overall – and don’t want to think about class until late August.

After exams wrapped up, half of UVA headed down to North Myrtle for Beach Week. I went down Saturday night and stayed until Thursday. It was enjoyable, we were lucky to have good weather a majority of the time (although not too hot), and it was good to unwind. I witnessed lots of sketchiness in the Spanish Galleon – would you expect any less?

On the way home, we went and saw Star Wars Episode 3 – wow is this a great movie. I know I’m more into the Sci Fi/Geek than most of you are, but you really should see this movie. Even Jay, who had never seen a single Star Wars, enjoyed it. It was done really well, the story was amazing, and it was really enjoyable. It made over $50 million on opening day (Thursday), and I expect it to make over $200 million on opening weekend.. which would be a record.

Graduation was this weekend. Being a class of 2006 trustee, I was obligated to work a few events. Saturday night I worked a graduation party given by the University (I didn’t know they held one either?). I then was a student marshall for the precession on the Lawn, which we were blessed with gorgeous weather. It must really be a special feeling graduating when the school looks that gorgeous… Congrats Class of 2005 Grads.
